IPS Result Date

To get their desired job in different public sectors, a number of young Indians vie for the Civil Service examinations every year. The Civil Service preliminary examination for services like IAS, IPS and IFS are normally held during the month of May every year. Only the candidates who successfully get through the preliminary examination will be called for the main examination, which is generally held during the month of October every year.
Normally, the results of the preliminary examination held during the month of May, is published during the month of August. According to UPSC, the candidature of the candidates getting through the preliminary examination is normally provisional and these candidates will have to apply again with a fresh application form for getting admission to the main IPS examination.
Generally, the candidates who successfully get through the preliminary examination will be receive a communication from the commission informing them to apply for the main examination. But, if a candidate, who has succeeded in the preliminary examination, has not received any notification until the end of month of August, from the commission, he/she should immediately contact the commission giving details like address, date of birth, full name, roll number, etc…
The candidates will be able to find the list of candidates who have succeeded in the preliminary examination from the web site of Union Public Service Examination. The main examination is generally held during the month of October for the candidates who have succeeded in the preliminary examination. The results of the main examinations are published during the month of March of the following year and the candidates are then
called for the interview.
The whole process of selection in the IPS examination takes around 18 months, which include the application process. Apart from the process of application, it takes around one year.
